Hello, I’m Sky! My mission is to write raw and relatable essays, to produce content inspired by the inevitable messiness of life. You can usually find me rereading Harry Potter (Prisoner of Azkaban, of course!), perusing local markets, cooking up something colorful, or chilling in downward-facing dog.
My intention is to understand the human experience. I believe in self-care: to nurture the physical, the emotional, the mental, and maybe even the spiritual.
I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at the State University at Plattsburgh. My undergraduate degree is in English, so I seek to explore the benefits of writing as a form of therapy in the educational setting.
My vision is to work with adolescents and young adults, specifically in stress management. In my personal life, I blend my English background with my interest in mental health by journaling and reading. I hope to integrate writing therapy and bibliotherapy into my future practice as well. With these goals in mind, I hope to positively change how the world approaches mental health.
